Colchester defender Alex Wynter stretchered off after sickening clash of heads early in Tottenham FA Cup tie

The centre-back was injured in a collision with team-mate Tom Eastman and has been taken to hospital

Colchester's Alex Wynter has been taken to hospital after a sickening clash of heads in his side's FA Cup game against Tottenham.

The defender went down heavily within the first four minutes of the fourth round tie, following a collision with team-mate Tom Eastham.

Wynter appeared to be in some distress and received treatment from the home physios before leaving the field of play on a stretcher.

BT Sport reported that he was taken to hospital for further medical attention.

Eastman was briefly able to continue after having a cut on his head bandaged up but was substituted before the interval.
