Sights of Dieng plateau must-see


The name is a portmanteau of two Dieng said Kawi language: in which means place or mount and Hyang which means (God). Thus, the Dieng Mountains area means the God and goddess resides. Another theory States, the name is derived from the Sundanese Dieng (hyang) because predicted during the pre-Phoebe (around 7th century AD) the area is in the political influence of the Kingdom of Galuh.

Dieng plateau is a plateau region in Central Java, which enters the territory of Banjarnegara district and Wonosobo Regency. Its location is on the West side of the complex mount Sindoro and Sumbing.

Dieng volcanic region is active and can be said to constitute a giant volcano with some kepundan crater. The average elevation is approximately 2,000 m above sea level.
